COVID Training Arrangements - Update 12/10/21

The NSW Government has confirmed as of Monday 11th October (70% vaccination rate) that only full vaccinated people (16 years and older) are able to take advantage of the eased restrictions as stated in the Public Health Order which includes outdoor sport and exercise.

With some trainings/programs commencing in the coming weeks, with no more than 20 people per gathering (e.g 19 athletes & 1 coach – up to 3 gatherings per field), it will be required as per the Public Health Order for people aged 16 or older to be double vaccinated to attend your training venue. In relation to under 16 year old’s and vaccinations, the NSW Government states ‘people under the age of 16 who are not fully vaccinated are allowed unaccompanied in their workplaces and all outdoor settings’.

We would recommend for Clubs & Associations to have an ‘athlete and coach only’ rule in place for each training/program venue until the 1st December when different restrictions come in place. This is to ease the workload of coaches and the venues volunteers having to check each person over the age of 16 and their vaccination status. We encourage parents/guardians/spectators to either remain in their cars or drop off/pick up at the designated times. Hockey NSW will be implementing this process for our COD and AAP training sessions from now until December 1st.

We appreciate your understanding and support throughout these tricky times. We hope to get hockey up and going soon and look forward to seeing everyone back on the turf shortly.
