Alexandra El-Shamy

Alex brings over 40 years of involvement in hockey and more than two decades of executive and board leadership across the sport, corporate and not-for-profit sectors.

She is a strategic advisor to boards, CEOs and leadership teams, with deep expertise in governance, community engagement and organisational reform. A former Hockey One Director and regional Association President, Alex combines lived experience with strategic insight to lead with integrity, purpose and independence.

As President of Hockey NSW, she is focused on the organisation’s strengths to support good governance, strong partnerships, vibrant participation and a connected, future-ready hockey community.

Corinne Rochester

Vice President & Elected Director

Corinne is an experienced People & Development Manager with over eight years at Allens, one of Australia’s leading law firms. She specialises in HR strategy, policy development, remuneration frameworks and employee relations.

Corinne brings professional HR rigour to the boardroom, strengthening governance in areas of people management, performance review, recruitment, and employment compliance. She is a former Club President and continues to volunteer actively within the Sydney hockey community.

Wayne Snell

Elected Director

Wayne has a distinguished background in governance, risk and emergency management, currently serving as a Director at the Australian Civil-Military Centre.

He is internationally recognised for his integrity work, serving as Chair of the International Hockey Federation Integrity Unit and as a member of the International Table Tennis Federation Integrity Board. Wayne is a qualified hockey technical and umpiring official and contributes a strong lens on ethics, governance and safeguarding across Hockey NSW operations.

Sonny Chadha

Elected Director

Sonny brings over two decades of C-suite leadership experience across the technology, telecommunications, logistics and eCommerce sectors.

He is a proven strategic and commercial leader, with deep expertise in digital transformation, business growth, and stakeholder management. As a current Masters player and hockey parent, Sonny combines corporate strategy with lived hockey experience, helping shape Hockey NSW’s digital and operational future.

Luke Fleming

Elected Director

Luke is the Chief People Officer at ICC Sydney, with more than 20 years’ experience leading HR, workforce strategy and organisational development across domestic and international markets.

He brings specialist capabilities in DEI, risk and workforce planning, and has previously served in executive roles in rowing and on a large Sydney hockey Association board. Luke remains active in hockey as a coach, selector and manager, with a passion for driving inclusive development environments.

Martin Belci

Elected Director

Martin has close to 50 years’ experience in the banking sector, spanning corporate, business and institutional finance. He is the founder of JRD Finance & Consulting Pty Ltd.

Martin brings deep knowledge in financial services, compliance, risk and business development. His commercial acumen and long-term industry relationships help strengthen the board’s oversight of financial governance, investment, and regulatory obligations.

Giselle Mills

Appointed Non-Executive Director

Giselle is currently the Deputy General Counsel (ANZ) for Rheem Australia Pty Ltd and has been an in-house lawyer for approximately 25 years.

Prior to her current role in manufacturing, she has held senior in-house legal roles across a range of regulated industries including professional services, financial services, general insurance and private health insurance. Giselle has extensive legal experience across different businesses and regulatory frameworks and is a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia.

Giselle is a lifelong committed hockey player and can be found regularly on the hockey pitches around Sydney and at tournaments throughout NSW.

Joseph Lantz

Appointed Non-Executive Director

Joseph is currently the Executive Director of LCG Solutions and the major projects advisor to the NSW Department of Communities and Justice having carried out similar roles at NSW Education and Western Sydney University. He has over 20 years experience working in executive roles within the sports facility development and infrastructure planning and delivery sectors for both the private and public sectors.

He has extensive experience with over 25 years serving on Boards and Committees and developing strong relationships with governments and government agencies at all levels.

Joseph is currently a player in the NSW Men’s Masters scene and has also served in several administrative roles for hockey clubs and associations.

Jeshan Velupillai

Appointed Non-Executive Director

Jeshan is an Audit and Assurance Partner at BDO Australia. He has extensive experience working with publicly listed and private organisations across the financial services and technology sector.

He brings a strong combination of technical expertise and commercial insight, working closely with boards and executive teams on financial reporting, governance and risk management.
