EOI: Independent Members for Pathways and Performance Committee (PPC)

The Board of Hockey NSW is seeking to appoint several Independent Members to the Pathways and Performance Committee (PPC). Independent Members bring external expertise and perspective to complement the skills of current Directors. They are appointed by the Board and serve in an advisory capacity (i.e. they do not carry Director duties under the Corporations Act).

The Committee’s responsibilities include:

  • Act as a sounding board and counsel on major strategic issues within the HNSW Pathways and Performance team
  • Endorse policies, procedures and protocols for talent identification, athlete selection, coach and team official appointments.
  • Ensure that Management decisions regarding squads, teams and appointments are consistent with approved criteria and protocols.
  • Ratify key Management decisions (2), including final team lists and coaching appointments.
  • Monitor implementation of pathway frameworks via reporting and dashboards.
  • Provide strategic guidance to the Board on matters relating to performance and development across field and indoor hockey, including NSW Pride and the High-Performance program in conjunction with Hockey Australia.
  • Serve as an escalation point for Management where policies, procedures or protocols do not address a specific situation.

Term & Commitment

  • Independent Members are appointed for a term of up to 2 years, subject to annual review.
  • The Committee will meet at least four times per year, with meetings held virtually or in Sydney.
  •  This is a voluntary position; reasonable expenses may be reimbursed in line with Hockey NSW policy.
