Published Tue 30 Mar 2021

Hockey NSW is excited to announce that there will be more hockey on the airwaves than ever before thanks to the Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) this year.

With regular weekly segments and content, hockey will reach the ears of thousands of listeners throughout the State, including in many regional areas through their network of local stations. News and interviews covering local, State and National hockey will allow us to promote the sport and share the wonderful people and stories that make hockey great.

Regular weekly interviews with players, coaches, officials and our partners will feature on the Mornings with Matt White program in Sydney, along with the Sportsday NSW drive-time program on 26 regional stations across NSW.

The NSW Pride will also benefit from more coverage and some special programming throughout the Hockey One season as the action heats up in the league in October & November. There will be a dedicated 30 minute weekly program and catch-up podcast throughtout the season to preview and review all the H1 and NSW Pride news and results each week. There will also be live score updates each weekend during NSW Pride games to ensure listeners are kept up-to-date with all the action. There will also be player profiles and a special NSW Pride "Member Day" in the lead up to the season to promote our athletes and encourage new fans to jump onboard for the season.

Hockey NSW CEO David Thompson is thrilled to have more hockey on the radio and hopes that the sport can reach thousands of new fans during 2021.

"For a long time, hockey fans have been crying out for more coverage and promotion of hockey in mainstream media, and SEN will deliever that this year to more than 400,000 weekly listeners," said Thompson.

"We're lucky to have great friends of hockey like Matt White at SEN to really drive hockey promotion, and we're looking forward to working with them to bring some great content, stories and interviews to sports fan across NSW."

So make sure to tune your radio to SEN and their partner stations for all the great hockey content this year!
