L-R: Hockey NSW President Alex El-Shamy, Dr Jerry Schwartz, HNSW Vice President Corinne Rochester, HNSW Board Director Martin Belci.
Hockey NSW is delighted to announce the signing of a new three-year sponsorship agreement with the Schwartz Family Company.
The Schwartz Family Company is the largest privately owned hotel group in Australia, and also owns Sydney Seaplanes, Sydney Brewery, the Hunter Valley Wine and Beer Festival, GABS Beer & Spirit Festivals, and the Hunter Valley Conference & Events Centre.
Dr Jerry Schwartz, owner of the Schwartz Family Company, said that the long-term nature of the deal provides support for the sport and allows him to spread the word about his businesses and reach the hockey community over several years.
“Hockey is a sport which is played by all demographics, ages, sexes, skill levels. To have the opportunity to sponsor and help this sport is amazing,” Dr Schwartz said. “Hockey has far reaching appeal, so this is a great opportunity [for] my business.”
Hockey NSW Chief Operating Officer Richard Griffiths said he was very pleased to welcome the Schwartz Family Company and Dr Jerry Schwartz as a sponsor of Hockey NSW.
“The Schwartz Family Company (SFC) owns a number of hotels, event spaces, festivals, and other businesses around the state, and we think there are going to be a number of benefits both ways, to our members, our business, and SFC out of this sponsorship. We’re delighted to have Jerry commit to a three-year agreement,” Griffiths said.
Hockey NSW Board Director Martin Belci played an important role in securing the sponsorship and was proud to welcome a person of the standing and reputation of Dr Schwartz to the sport.
“I have known Jerry for over 20 years in both a personal and professional capacity and he has proven himself to be an exceptional businessman, well known for his philanthropic causes. I am very proud that he has come on board to support Hockey NSW,” Belci said.
