Welcome to the Regional Challenge Hub

This summer, the Illawarra came alive as hundreds of young hockey players from across New South Wales gathered for a three-day, development-focused carnival and the grand finale of the Hockey NSW Centre of Development (COD) program, the state’s largest annual participation initiative for boys and girls aged 10–14.

At the Regional Challenge, participants showcased what they had learned in a games-based, non-competitive environment, while families enjoyed the region’s stunning beaches, local attractions, and vibrant community. From honing skills on the pitch to making new friends and exploring everything the Illawarra had to offer, the 2026 Regional Challenge delivered an unforgettable experience for young players, their families, and the wider hockey community.

We now look forward to the 2027 Centre of Development and Regional Challenge. Check this page for updates and future announcements.
