Hockey NSW Stands with Communities Confronting Cyclone Alfred
Published Fri 07 Mar 2025

Hockey NSW extends our thoughts and well wishes to everyone as Cyclone Alfred moves through South East Queensland and in Northern NSW. As this severe weather system moves through the region, we recognise the challenges that local clubs, associations, and families may face in the coming days and weeks.
Our priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of our hockey family. We understand that extreme weather events like this can cause significant disruptions, from damage to facilities and playing fields, to the personal hardships faced by members of our community. Hockey NSW is here to support our clubs and associations as they navigate these challenges.
To our Queensland hockey counterparts, we send our best wishes and hope you remain safe as this cyclone passes. We know the resilience of the hockey community, and we stand ready to support you in any way we can.
Over the coming weeks, Hockey NSW will be working with affected clubs and associations to assess the impact of Cyclone Alfred and provide support where needed. We have undertaken similar recovery efforts in the past for clubs impacted by floods and other natural disasters, and we are committed to helping our community through this difficult time.
In the meantime, stay safe, look after one another and know that the hockey family is here to support you.
