NSW Pride Set to Ignite Regional Centres Once Again in Blockbuster 2025 Hockey One Season

Published Wed 11 Jun 2025

Hockey fans across New South Wales can mark October and November in their calendars, as the 2025 Hockey One season is set to deliver unforgettable moments when NSW Pride return to the regional towns of Narellan, Newcastle, and Goulburn.

After a successful 2024 campaign that drew record crowds and showcased elite talent, Hockey NSW and NSW Pride are taking the Lions’ Den on the road once more, bringing high-octane hockey action to communities that continue to show their passion for the sport.

Last year, the regional rounds captivated thousands, including a sold-out crowd in Newcastle. In 2025, fans in these towns will again get the chance to witness Australia's premier hockey league live and loud, with the NSW Pride determined to build on their success from 2024.

With the NSW Pride 2025 Hockey One schedule now confirmed, it’s time to plan your road trip.

Must-See Games of 2025: The Pride at Home

Round 2: The Bronze Medal Rematch

The NSW Pride’s first home game will be in Round 2, Saturday 18 October, facing off against the Tassie Tigers in a much-anticipated rematch of the 2024 Women’s Bronze Medal clash. With the Tigers eager for redemption after falling to the Pride in that thrilling encounter, the match at Narellan promises fireworks.

Round 3: A Historic “Pride” Round in Newcastle

Newcastle, which boasts one of the league’s most electric atmospheres, will play host to the official “Pride” Round in Round 3, Friday 24 October. NSW Pride has long championed inclusion and diversity through its annual “Pride in Pride” celebration - being the only Hockey One club to independently initiate and host a Pride-themed round. This year, the movement goes league-wide.

NSW Pride will take on HC Melbourne in what promises to be an action-packed double-header under the lights of Newcastle. The team remains steadfast in its commitment to the LGBTQI+ community, using the platform of sport to inspire meaningful change and foster an environment of inclusivity and respect.

Round 4: Goulburn Returns to the Spotlight

Rounding out the regional tour is a return to the hockey heartland of Goulburn, a town with deep roots in the sport and a history of producing elite talent. With Adelaide Fire coming to town on Friday 14 November, the next generation of NSW Pride athletes will be eager to put on a show in front of one of the country’s most passionate hockey communities.
