Be Part of Developing the Next Generation of NSW Hockey Athletes
Hockey NSW is seeking Expressions of Interest from passionate, experienced and committed coaches to join the coaching teams for the 2027 NSW State and Blues Teams.
These roles provide an opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of NSW athletes within the Hockey NSW Pathways & Performance Program, supporting athletes to achieve their potential both on and off the field while preparing for national-level competition.
Successful applicants will play an important role in creating and delivering a high-performance learning environment aligned with the Hockey NSW DNA, athlete development principles and Pathways Program objectives. Coaches will work collaboratively with Hockey NSW staff, selectors, team managers and support personnel to provide a positive, professional and athlete-focused representative experience.

Program Commitments
All successfully appointed coaches must be available to attend and actively participate in the compulsory program commitments associated with their respective age group. These commitments include:
- State Selection Events – Two (2) weekends
- State Team Training Sessions – Two (2) to three (3) weekends
- National Championships – Approximately seven (7) to ten (10) days
In addition, successfully appointed coaches may be required to attend relevant State Age Championships for their respective age group either prior to or following the National Championships (depending on the age group and timing of the selection process for the following year’s squad). These events support ongoing athlete identification, development and succession planning within the Hockey NSW Pathways & Performance Program.
Applicants should ensure they can commit to the required program schedule prior to submitting an Expression of Interest.

Application Process
The Hockey NSW appointment process will include the following stages:
- Expression of Interest Submission
Applicants submit their EOI outlining relevant experience, qualifications and suitability for the role. - Shortlisting & Interview
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an online interview (approximately 30 minutes) to discuss their experience and approach to the role. - Appointment & Onboarding
Successful applicants will be required to attend a Hockey NSW onboarding induction process later in the year, providing key information regarding program expectations, policies and campaign requirements.
Applicants should ensure they are available to participate in all stages of the process prior to submitting their application.
